The school gets busier more than ever. Of course you know why, the homecoming queen and king is on the way. It’s not hard to predict who will be homecoming king of AIS. Who else but Jason, the popular senior guy. I have to admit that every girl in school must have fallen in love with him. He’s smart, good at sports, gentle and of course he’s handsome. And also here in AIS, Rachel is as popular as Jason. She’s a real Barbie doll, blonde hair, nice face, always with fashionable outfit. She’s also a cheerleader of school. Things will go easier if she’s nice and friendly to everyone. I don’t understand why do boys always trying to get close to her even though she treats other not as good as everyone does, even with those whose she calls “ best friends”, well it’s just three other girls follow her everyday at school. Things get on my last nerve when I heard my home room teacher told me I will be her biology partner for the whole year. It’s the worst nightmare that has happened to me. No, it’s not even a dream, it’s happening in real life.
The first day didn’t go well like what I have expected. What else can she do but just sit there and doing her manicure. I had to do every single thing, yes me, everything. So are the other days, but things started to change. As I walked into the room, there wasn’t anyone yet except Rachel sitting there. What are she doing here in this kind of early morning like this, that’s not usual, I mumbled to myself. She could barely hide away the big disappointment on her face. She gave me her last Bio test and it was a D. It’s would be no big deal if you have a D, well not too much D but I know why she’s so worried, because she’s running for the homecoming queen so if you have bad grades, you are not allowed to be voted. All she asked is to be her tutor on Bio.
It turned out that Rachel is not actually mean and self-fish and other bad stuff like the stereotype like people gave to her, included me before. We meet each other after school to study twice a week. Some how we become closer than before and I slowly understand about Rachel more and more. I also admire her for willing to do anything just to reach her goal, to be homecoming queen. She takes time to read books and do exercises instead of spending too much time doing other girls stuff.
The final test for the last quarter’s coming and then will be a party and we will know who’s going to be the homecoming king and queen this year. Rachel is worried more than ever, I have never seen her being unconfident that much. The test was pretty hard, but it would be fine if you do study. In class, when the teacher handed out back the test, it was so amazing, even the best student in class didn’t get his best but Rachel did, she got 95. There’s no worried anymore, now people are focusing on the party, what to wear and other stuff. We hang out at the mall more often to choose the best dress for the party. Now, everyone’s topic is the party, they discuss about that almost all of their free time, even our dear principal, Mr. Francis, is feeling excited too.
There is no confusing, I know who am I going to vote for the queen. It’s will be for Rachel, because after being with each other twice a week, get to know more about her, we become friends, not best friends but we do talk sometimes. The party was absolutely great and enjoyable. People danced and partied and took pictures and so much more. Every one gathered around when it’s time to show who will be homecoming this year. Every one gathered around when it’s time to show who will be homecoming this year. It’s exactly what I have predicted before, of course the king will be Jason, his smile really melted all the girls when he got the trophy. And the queen is Rachel for sure.
The school ended happily.
